Erdath shouts, "Black Wing will only be held for a short time (5 rounds)." He then turns to Audi, takes these and open them and set them on the dragons tongue, but do not spill them into his mouth." Erdath will give him 3 potions of cure moderate wounds so when the spell breaks he will close his mouth on them and spill them in his mouth. (6d8+6 holy damage). He will then make his way to the steps and begin casting once again. This time he sends two empowered magic missiles flying at The Maiden (2d4+2 x 1.5).

Sven will go after the Maiden and the Well. Running as quickly as he can with his sword sword ready. If Sven can keep the Maiden busy, mabe Hrrd can destroy the crystals that make up the well....

[ooc: Maroon is an undead bane sword, are ghosts considered undead?]

The Maiden.

The Well.

Both need to be dealt with. Quickly.

Tolleen silently curses her lack of magic: both arms and spells, and feels frustrated by her own uselessness.

The Maiden seems to be incorporeal, so weapons of a magic nature will be needed to injure her...there's nothing Tolleen can do there...

Sven goes running by, brandishing Maroon, the two of them moving as one deadly force towards the Maiden.

Maroon is magical. Sven can do more there than Tolleen could. That leaves the Well. Thinking back to a conversation that seems almost a lifetime ago now...in fact...it was a lifetime ago...Tolleen reaches into her pocket and palms a small token of some sort. Holding it to her lips and giving it a gentle kiss, she runs towards the well, Tumbling [+4] past anything that may attempt to stop her.

"Mant", she whispers in a soft voice.

"Mant", she calls again, a bit louder this time, racing directly for the Well.

Leaping into the air [Jump +4] directly over the well, Tolleen calls Mant's name a third time, with a passion and affection in her voice that is extremely uncharacteristic of the Amazon. As she utters his name a third time, she casts the token into the Well.

In the span of a moment, a huge, swan-shaped boat half erupts out of the Well, growing to fill the portal and putting additional stress on the ring intended to contain the Well. The sharp sound of cracking stone can be heard throughout the chamber.

Looking up at the Maiden after she lands on her feet, Tolleen sneers. "Nothing goes in, nothing gets out...b*tch..."

Dirken nods to Zuki. I'm going for the golems, maybe its best you stick with Bobby?

With that Dirken rushes towards Karl and the stone creatures.

KARL!! InnnCooomiing!!

Soon as Dirken is in range he'll pull the pin with his teeth yet again and lob the magical ball in the middle of the golems, hopeing his party is now smart enough to run when he says to run.

Karl is unsure of what to do. Being heois is one thing, but suicidal is another. Fighting 6 of these golems was
definitely suicide. Then Dirken yells out to him, and gatheing all his remaining wind, begins running away from the
golems as fast he can. He'd a'ready eaten the brunt of the blast of one of those things, he'd not do it again! He'd not stop running until the grenade did its grisly work.

Harwan's sword didn't work against the Runes. A new strategy is needed. Harwan will instead attack the Maiden, seeing if his magical sword has what it takes to harm this ghostly form. He is also keeping an eye on the Dragon, worried if that beast should once again come to life.

The big guy will take the moment of distraction to strike at the second seal. If all she is going to do is to throw little bitty bits of fire at him, he can handle that for a while. If she starts to be more than a pest with it though he will have to find a better solution.

With the athletism expected from a master thief, Dirken tumbles down the wall and rolls
through the gap under Black Wing's giant legs...

He rushes through the room where Gawaine is struggling to maintain on foot against
the revived soldiers, and has almost reached Karl, when...

Outnumbered and stripped of his best weapon,

[As a DM, I must say this plan is the strike of a genius!]

Erdath throws his bag with the potions over to Audi, and begins to channel the magic energy in his hands...

He is just about to launch it, when...

Gathering all his remaining strength, Harwan desperately attacks the Maiden with Grief...

Like Hrrd's Mjolnir, the sword runs right through the child ghost's deformed body,
sewering the demonical girl's arm...

For a moment, the Maiden's rotten and skeletal face is twisted by a perverse grin,
as she summons her magic powers once again...

And then, her expression changes to terror!

Harwan can see the ghostly magic reach out for the arm, and then failing to bind it again...

But then...

[Maroon can harm ghosts and undead, as far as I read it.]

Sven, breathing heavily under his armor but still strong and determined,
reaches the Maiden just as Harwan drives Grief through her...

And, like a silver lightning, Maroon strikes down somewhere into the essence of the ghost,
when...

The flames flaring aorund his thick hood made of dragon scale,
Hrrd is ducks under the Maiden's fire and raises Mjolnir to swing it against the Well
a second time, when...

THEN...

Your enemies pinned, distracted or beaten, nobody can stop Tolleen...

Brumm. Morghrum and Haldir. Draussa and Jigimy. Mant.

And with a last shout, more a cry of rage and of affliction over the loss of so many of her friends,
Tolleen sunders Mant's talisman into the Well of Souls...

And as the green artifact of jade touches the surface of the water,
it transforms...

Out of the hole between the dimension grows a huge, tinn-coloured swanship,
pushing away the spectral waters and corking the Well...

Within less than a second, it grows so large that it's planks crash against the
insides of the magic ring...

Just for a moment, it looks as if the ring would support the pressure...

But then...

It breaks.

The magic of the Well fades silently from the world of men.

And the Company of the Maiden takes a moment to fully understand.

Inside the throne room, Sven and Harwan crash their heads together,
the image of the Maiden before them suddenly gone.

Audi only narrowly escapes the falling bones of the crumbling dragon skeleton.

Dirken finds nothing in the room where he had heard Karl calling.
Nothing but a pile of broken statue parts...

Hrrd is just happy that itching burn is gone.

All you feel is a soft wind, maybe a herald of the arriving spring.
As you stand there in the ruins of the Afridhi palace and over the remains of the Well of Souls,
now absurdly laying around the sewered nose of a swanship,
you realize it is all over.

But as you, for the first time maybe since you embarked on this dangerous journey,
draw a deep breath and lower your weapons, to lean on the blood-stained temple walls,
Erdath's fine Elven ears register a distant sound, slowly coming closer,
and in of increasing volume...

Laughter.

And suddenly...

Black-cled Westryn bowmen all around you, outnumbering you five to one,
with bows and curved sabres, the tips of their weapons glowing of soul magic...

Westryn warriors on the entrance, blocking Karl's possible escape, and in the curtained
corridors, surrounding Gawaine and Audi.

Westryn with long bows in front of Hrrd, Sven and Harwan,
the three men at point blank range.

Over on the balcony, where Dirken and Zuki stood but moments earlier,
Gorileth.

The Westryn's horned face is twisted to a born sadist's merciless grin,
as he draws his own sabre and gently, almost playfully,
puts it on the throat of a hostage two of his servants are holding bound:
Baron Zvenzen, Sven's grandfather.

Thanks for saving us the work, insolent mortals.
Now, lay down your weapons and surrender!
- Maybe I cannot bring my queen the Well of Souls,
but you for sure make for good gladiators, and later,
even better SWORDS, down in the pits of the Willow Kingdom.
